Javier Gallegos, DVM, DACVS-SA
Dr. Gallegos is a Board-Certified Small Animal Surgeon based in Southeastern Wisconsin, specializing in orthopedic, soft tissue, and neurological surgery. Originally from the Bay Area of California, he relocated to Madison, WI to attend the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine. He then pursued extensive surgical training, completing a one-year rotating internship at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, a one-year surgical internship in Phoenix, AZ, and a three-year surgical residency at Edinger Surgical Options in Madison, WI.
Dr. Gallegos is the founder of Otra Surgical Options, offering mobile surgical services to veterinary practices in the region. Although Dr. Gallegos is not a full-time member of our team, we are fortunate to have him join us regularly to perform complex orthopedic and soft tissue procedures. His proficiency in advanced surgical techniques, combined with his passion for teaching, allows us to provide specialized care for our patients.
Outside of his surgical work, Dr. Gallegos enjoys restoring vintage cars, traveling, and spending time with his two children and partner, Nicole. His Chihuahua, Stuart, holds a special place in his heart.
